The Center for Rehabilitation Research using Large Datasets (CRRLD) hosted a symposium at UTMB on October 24, 2013 with a focus on issues and methods related to research using large administrative and population databases. This conference provided an opportunity for investigators of various backgrounds to gain an understanding of the challenges and benefits associated with large database research from three nationally renowned experts. The Center for Rehabilitation Research using Large Datasets includes a consortium of investigators at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Cornell University, the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, and the Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation. The program is funded by the National Institutes of Health - National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research in the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (grant # R24-HD065702).
